Tony Jimenez was born in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, in February 1978, at age 19 started in sculpture. Today is a recognized artist who has participated in various individual and collective exhibitions, among which "National Sculpture Symposium," Barva 2002, and the BTC Sculpture Biennial, at the National Gallery, where he received an Honorable Mention.
His creations are easily identifiable features, as in his sculptures are movement and dynamism, and a fine finish that does bring out the texture, quality and color of the wood used.
To make his sculptures Tony uses different types of wood, which comes from trees felled by natural causes, "tucas that some cases are considered waste, some of the most used woods include cocobolo, black wood, bark and other , which are high quality and hardness.
A particular feature of his art, is that his sculptures integrated into materials such as chains, wires and stones or sculpted mullet, elements that highlight its dynamic style surreal.
